Q: How do I market my property online through my new vacation rental website?
A: Craigslist offers free advertising for those wishing to rent out their property online. You can copy and paste your
URL to the ad, allowing potential clients to link from craigslist directly to your website. You can also use more traditional media for advertisement, such as local newspapers or magazines, and list your URL
there.
Q: Can I link this website to a site that I have my vacation rental property listed on? A: Many listing companies allow you a link from their website to your own website. If you are with a listing service, check with them
to see if they offer this option.
Q: I want a website, but I don't want a booking calendar. Can I get a website without a calendar? A: Each of our websites comes with an optional booking calendar. If you want a website that does not display a calendar, make sure to check "NO" on the reservation calendar button when you
sign up.
Q: Will I be able to host the website that I purchase from you with my own hosting company? A: No. The website that you have purchased from us must be hosted with the company that we host all of our websites with.
Q: I have a purchased my own domain name that I want to use for my website. Can I use it with the site that I buy from you? A: Yes. You will need to point the DNS servers of the domain name that you own to the website you have hosted through us.
Re-directing your DNS
All of our websites are hosted with Hosting.com. If you want your website to display under your own domain name, you will have to re-direct your DNS (domain name servers).
This involves:
1. Pointing your domain name to the IP address of our server.
2. Changing the domain name servers listed on your registrar's webpage from those of your registrar to those of Hosting.com's.
Once these two things are done, the website that you have purchased from us will display under your own domain name.
